  Hello Nanette,

I think that this has great potential as long as you continue your oversight of the service. There will always be scammers in the form of members and advertisers so the need for scrutiny will be ongoing.

My first thought was if it is good for your family that would matter. My second thought is it could radically increase membership and that might provide many people using the search engine... to enhance your income.

The thing here is that you are serious about having honorable people on here... and that matters.

I think you could make it work.

My thought is that it would be worth trying for say 6 months to a year. I think it could be very good if structured properly.

  MY "two cents" worth....
Price is not a concern to me..
And I agree with MrsJames, rebirthedanew,
and most of the others here:
"One GETS.. what you PAY for.."
I applied here seeking a mate, companion, wife, etc.
Nannette does extensive surveillance to keep out
the creeps, spammers, users, and thief's..
I have NO complaints about the members,
the site, or how it is run..
My search has been - IS for a God loving
woman to spend my days with...
I do not feel / think / or believe that
I am "too picky" in that respect..
but I'd rather be alone and lonely..
then with someone and miserable..
Anyways...
I find that not many members are from
my area, many are here to "make friends",
"have pals", and "cyber socialize"..
All of those are sound, good, and legitimate
reasons for "being here"..
unfortunately...
none of the "reasons" are why I
contemplated joining...
I may stay my "trial free"..
and if I do..
I might even maintain the "basic free"..
but I do not see or find any services,
areas, or items that might keep me
as an active, participatory member..
I respect all here and give a
proud salute to Nannette and her crew for
this wonderful place..
I would ask that I am kept in your prayers
and I promise to keep yous in mine..
This is MY opinion in regards to
this thread / form on "Advertising and CSD Goes FREE?"..
Again..
for ME...
free.. pay.. is NOT an issue..
It is that what I seek is not what is here..
So please...
No meany mail, or accusations..
I am simply stating MY situation..
as I am sure everyone has their own..
And.....
Keep an eye peeled.....
As yous can see..
I am just the shy, bashful, and timid type
who shies from voicing an opinion..!!!
More later..
and REMEMBER......
a "person of interest",
is only a label...........
Take Care & Stay Safe..

My personal opinion is NO. I'm a free basic member and I can't afford the membership, but what I use the site for is primarily chat anyway. Yes, I'm looking but I can't really do much right now anyway and I'm primarily looking for friendship right now. If this site were to go advertising who knows what kind of riffraff would come in, and everyone would be bombarded with scams. I would be very concerned about what would happen, especially if new Christians would come in and get "attacked by ravening wolves", so to speak. Keep it the way it is....

Nannette, personally I think you should do what you think is best for the site, BUT keep in mind that along with FREE comes more perverts and scammers which will mean more diligence on your part to weed out the seedy characters, and keep things working smoothly

I don't think it's a good idea. I live on limited income and I can still afford to pat for membership. It's where your priorities are. I can cut out from some other place in my budget for membership. I don't ever click on adverts simply cause I don't really know if it's a rip off or not and most things in ads don't appeal to me anyways. The more ads, the longer it takes for a page to load up and some people still use dial up and it would be even worse for them. I hope the web site stays the way it is.
