Dear Sister in Christ:
I wanted to recommend a trip to a Health food store that sells bulk herbs. Usually, the individuals employed there r are very knowledgeable with herbs that will assist with the smoking cessation process. There are herbal teas and chew sticks to satisfy the oral gratification that your mind and body have become accustomed to. Aromatherapy (lavender, peppermint, etc.) or whatever scent you prefer may assist in calming your senses.
Surround yourself with fresh flowers. Take time to inhale and exhale deeply. Do you keep a journal? Writing out your feelings at that given moment may help. Do you have a hobby?
Since nicotine is a drug, combined with the pleasure of a force of habit, it will take discipline along with prayer. Are there triggers that make you want to pick up the cigarette?
There can never be enough prayer in a day. A simple prayer such as "God have mercy on me, give me the strength I need to overcome my smoking habit". Pray without ceasing. God will never leave us to bear our burdens alone. Praise God!
I will keep you in my prayers.

Hi,
Not sure where you are at as far as lifestyle goes so will pray that you have the strength and desire to make all the changes necessary to be healthier.
I praise God that you want to quit smoking, want to serve God with all of you, want freedom from addiction, believe in the power of God to work through you to overcome this habit. God hears your earnest heart reaching out to claim the victory over this destructive behavior. You deserve to spend your money on things that are good and do not hurt you. You deserve to give yourself permission to love and forgive yourself because God loves you.
Since this is anonymous, I do not know how much you know about quitting successfully. So I will be bold and share some of what I know.
Prepare physically: 8 hrs of sleep, 8 glasses of water spread out in the day (from 2 hrs after a meal to 1/2 hr before meals), a healthy breakfast (wholegrain breads/cereals and fruit), a brisk walk once daily, speak with your physician if not already doing exercise. Eat more fresh fruits and vegetables not at the same meal. Cut down on salt/spices because they lead to stronger cravings. Replace caffeine and alcohol with fruit juices. Leave 5 hrs between regular meal times.
Prepare mentally and socially too: you need a support system and someone you trust to be accountable to that will believe in you. Places you go may need to change and some friends may not like this change either. Hang on to your goal! Talking about how important it is to you to quit smoking and dwelling on the good results to others aloud can reinforce your decision and maybe help someone else quit too. You can be a witness amidst your trial!
Prepare spiritually: remember that a relapse is not failure just a temporary step out of line. God knows things do not always change quickly and He will stay with you, if you stay with Him through this. Remember to praise God for every little victory.
You can one day soon say, "I am free of nicotine, Praise God."
Even though it may not seem like it, God does give us what we need to endure through every trial. Praise our God for He is mighty and knows our great need of Him. Praise God for inspiring you to reach out. It is inspiring to me to see you reach out with such earnestness. I am certain God will help you reach your goal.

The word of God says that whatsoever we ask in prayer "believing" we shall receive. It may seem hard, but if you are REALLY READY to stop, just believe when you pray and God will take the urges from you and replace it with Godliness.
I used to smoke. But I got tired. Then when I prayed about it, the Lord gave me a revelation of who he is inside of me...I am now and forever a non smoker! Glory to God.

Yes, I shall pray for you, and I am telling you about what happened to me and my family. We all smoked, except brother Irv. And my late husbands. That is all below..
I am an ex-smoker, but it was easy for me to quit when the doctor told me that he didn't want me to die during surgery.
I have lost 2 husbands. The first didn't quit, the second did but it was like you said, You always go back to it. Well, one day it scared him enough to put it totally into God's powerful hands that he could do it, and without any withdrawal. He lived another 4 + years which he wouldn't have I do not think if he hadn't quit. He told me that God really blessed him, in so many ways in putting it totally into His hands and leaving it there. He tried one cigarette after that and it about chocked him to death, it tasted so bad..
God bl with you, is my prayer...
